More 55th--end of bus tour and memorial service

The Bonnie Brae Tavern. This is where we had lunch with our classmates while we are on the bus tour. We had the choice of hamburgers or pizza. Of course, Don chose a hamburger--no surpise there--and I had pizza. It was the best pizza I have ever had. I found out later that they are known for their Pizza.
The Bonnie Brae Ice Cream Parlor and it is my favorite place to have ice cream. Actually, my favorite was the Purity Creamery on Logan and Spear where I loved to have cherry ice cream sodas. They were the best. We ate ice cream two evenings here. You should see the lines of people who still line up out the door and down the block to have ice cream. I could have gone every night to have ice cream but didn't dare mention after we went the second time.

Our favorite place to eat is just down the street from the Bonnie Brae Ice Cream Parlor. It is the Saucy Noodle and has the best Italian food we have ever had. Every time we go to Denver we eat there at least once. The have a sign I just love. It says, "IF YOU DON'T LIKE GARLIC STAY HOME". I just remembered that the reason we didn't go have more ice cream is because we had Spamoni ice cream at the Saucy Noodle. So ice cream three out of four nights isn't too bad.

THE MEMORIAL SERVICE
The memorial service was held at the Washington Park Luthern Church. Quite a few of our classmates attended this church and were married there. The acapella choir sang ten songs including "Let Us Break Bread Together" which was always sang at the end of the choir programs as they marched out of the auditorium. And again this is what they did. As always the music was beautiful and only after a day and a couple of hours of practice. Amazing!!!

There were several talks and at the end they read the names of all of the classmates that had passed on. A flower for each person was added to make an arrangement. I went up for my friend, Mary Louise Emmert Catlett. She and I had been best friends all during high school. She died in an automobile accident in Hawaii.

After the ceremony we went into a cultural hall for refreshements and more visiting. It was a great evening and nice to think about those who have died.
