A NEW PAIR OF JEANS!!!

The other day your dad was sitting in his chair in the bedroom as I walked by and noticed he had a new pair of jeans on and that the bottom of both legs were rolled up about 4 inches. I said to him, "Where did you get those jeans?" He replied, "Out of my closet."

I got to looking closer at them and noticed the jeans had the typical blue jean pockets on them and none of his do--he wears the style that is like slacks. I said to him stand up, which of course he obeyed immediately (just kidding). I said turn around and he did and I said to him THOSE ARE MY JEANS!!! Well, he said, they were in my closet and the funniest part is that they fit him!!! Sure makes me feel bad. Now I know for sure that my legs are longer than his and that my bottom is bigger.

I sure wish I had a picture to go with this story but your dad wouldn't let me take one of him.

TRIP TO DENVER

I had a wonderful 3 day trip to Denver. I left at noon on Friday and returned home on Sunday night. I went with a friend, Tracy Ammon, from my ward who needed to go to Denver to see her husband who will be gone from home for a while. Of course, I always jump at the chance to go back home to my Denver.

We had a wonderful time together. She had never been to Denver before and it was fun showing her the Denver that I love so much.

Saturday I took her to the mountains after her short visit with her husband. We went up to Morrison and then to Red Rocks. She was amazed when she saw the huge Ampitheater which is flanked on both sides by huge red rocks. We went in the museum where we read about all of the famous people who had performed there during the summer months. It was finished in 1927.

Around 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon I drove her past all of the houses that I had lived in and then downtown to the Brown Palace Hotel and the Colorado State Capitol with its glistening gold dome.




We then went down to see the U.S. Mint and to see the house where the Unsinkable Molly Brown lived. It has an wonderful carriage house behind it which I wish I had taken a picture of, oh well!! Next time.



After that we went to Cheesman Park, Washington Park and past South High where I graduated from. Then we ate at the Saucy Noodle, my favorite place to eat in Denver. Great Italian food!! It has a sign that says, "If you don't like garlic, STAY HOME".

On Sunday between 10:45 and 11:30 we drove up to Lookout Mountain to see Buffalo Bill’s grave. There was quite a bit of snow up there and it was windy and cold. The view of Denver from Lookout Mountain is awesome. I love the Colorado mountains and it feels like home when I am in them.




It was great being with Tracy and chauffering her around. She is a lot of fun and seemed to enjoy everything we did. Thank heavens for her or I would have left more stuff there than I did. I am so absent minded that I would forget my head if it wasn't attached. Just ask Tracy.

What the Ashley and Brent are up to.

Hey! I thought I might just update everyone on our fabulous and exciting life. Brent leaves this Saturday to go to Officer Basic Course at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He'll be gone for about 6 weeks and I really hope he comes home to a wife and two kids, not home to just a wife, or just 2 kids.
I have planned lots to keep busy- stay at my parents a couple nights here and there, lots of dates with my girlfriends, my trusty BBC movies at my side, sewing nursing covers, library classes, dance classes (Sophie of course), etc. And luckily Brent's parents live only 12 minutes away. So in the end, I think we'll remain a family of four.
And then, I really hate to brag about it, but when Brent gets home around March 20-something, we'll prepare to make our move down to Ft Huacchuca, AZ. Pretty much out in the middle of nowhere. I mean, they don't even have a Costco. {But really- Ft Huacchuca is about an hour and 15 min SE of Tucson}
We'll then return back to our condo in Utah and hope and pray Brent gets a full time position with the National Guard. I've told Heavenly Father that's our plan. We'll see.

MAKENNA & AUSTIN--AIN'T HE CUTE

Makenna and Austin were playing house at Granny's house. They love the dress up clothes! I think Coco really put on Austin's dress up. She thinks we need to worry about him and we think it is her we need to worry about!!!

IN LOVING MEMORY OF PRESIDENT HINCKLEY

It is a sad day. President Hinckley will be truly missed among the world. He was a great leader. I am just glad he is finally getting to go home to his wife. I like this quote by President Hinckley, “I am totally in the hands of the Lord.” We all need to be more like him.

DON, THE HANDSOME YOUNG MAN!

The handsome and dapper, Don Carmack in front of his home at 526 6th Street in Ogden, Utah. Notice his handsome suit that was tailor made for him. His father, Harold, had a milk route at Model Dairy and he had a customer he delivered milk to that was a tailor and Don had several of these tailor made suits. At this time his father owned his own route at Model Dairy. Don is 14 years old. Of course this house is surrounded by houses now. In 2005 Don went up to the house and asked the older couple who lived there if he could go through the house. He explained that he had once lived there and that his family was the ones who dug out the basement. Don loved this house and all of his friends and good times he had while living there.
